POLAND… Robert F. Hannis, age 89, passed away peacefully Friday morning May 10, 2024 at the Inn at Poland Way. He was born June 4, 1934 in Youngstown, OH. and was a son of Frank and Mary (Benedict) Hannis.
Bob was a 1952 graduate of East High School and was a lifelong area resident. He began working as a laborer on the Railroad and then went on to work at Republic Rubber. He later worked at and retired in 1996 from Emch Spring in Youngstown.
Bob married his wife the former Patricia “Patty” Petretic on May 5, 1962 in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. The couple recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, St. Matthias Church, where he was a member of the Men’s Club.
Bob will always be remembered for his sense of humor and unwavering devotion to his wife Patty, and for being a loving father and grandfather. He was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland sports teams, and in his younger years enjoyed playing baseball, bowling and golf.
Bob is survived by his wife Patty, his daughter Renee (John) Kachaylo of Pittsburgh, PA, his grandchildren Zachary (fiancée Paige Miller) Kachaylo of Charlotte, NC, and Amanda (fiancé Andrew Orr) Kachaylo of Pittsburgh, PA. He also leaves his brother Ronald (JoAnn) Hannis of Cleveland, OH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Patricia Landers.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 15 from 10-10:45am at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Hubbard, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am with the Rev. Michael Swierz officiating.
Robert will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
