Sally A. Marchionda, 85

Youngstown…. Sally A. Marchionda, 85 passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown

.

Sally was born on June 30, 1938 in Campbell, Ohio, a daughter of William and Helen (Mihu) Kochmar. 

She was a 1956 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. Sally married her loving husband Sam Marchionda on November 28, 1959. They were married for 57 years until his passing on May 4, 2016.

Sally worked in retail for many years. She worked for Jewel Mart and went on to work at Visiting Nurse Association. 

Sally loved going to car shows, having picnics and entertaining her family and friends. She also loved cooking, shopping, Sunday mass, and spending time with her grandkids.

She will be deeply missed and always remembered by her children; Linda Marchionda of Austintown, Bob Marchionda of Youngstown, Diane (Bob) DiLoreto of Boardman, and Lisa (Chris) DiLoreto of Canton; her grandchildren, Janine Easton, Krysti Horvat, Justin Horvat, Jenna Birch, Alyssa Horvat, Shauna Marchionda, Shannon Senften and Giavanna DiLoreto; 9 great grandchildren; a brother Ron DeLuca; and a sister Betty Liptak; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Sam.

The Marchionda Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hampton Woods and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.

Private services were held on Monday, May 20, 2024 in the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio. Services were officiated by Rev. Michael Swierz.
