Savvas Katsourakis Obituary

Savvas V. Katsourakis, 5

YOUNGSTOWN…Savvas V. Katsourakis left this world unexpectedly, in the arms of his loving and devoted parents, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio.

Savvas was born on October 19, 2020 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Vasilis (Billy) and Kristin (Valva) Katsourakis.

He attended Pre-K at CCLC at St. Paul the Apostle in New Middletown, Ohio.

Savvas was in so many ways, a true angel here on earth, a pure blessing to everyone who knew him. His presence was a gift to those around him, immeasurable and irreplaceable. With a joyful spirit and infectious smile, his life was filled with more laughter and love than many experience in a lifetime. Some of the sweetest memories of him are found in the things he loved. Always dressing in his favorite costumes, becoming whoever his imagination allowed him to be. Happiest when we was outside, exploring the world around him, riding his tractor, running, swimming and playing with his siblings. He loved his school, classmates and teachers, and found happiness in learning and being a part of a community that cared for him. He cherished his time at the beach on family vacations, where joy came easily and memories were made together. You would often find him with his Rubik’s cubes or watching one of his favorite shows including Paw Patrol, Bluey, Peppa Pig, or Minecraft with his favorite snacks close by: pretzels, chocolate donuts, cake pops or a Happy Meal. He wouldn’t miss an opportunity to go shopping, especially to Barnes & Noble or Target. His birthday parties were always a magical event for him, he loved the excitement and celebrations, especially opening his presents. His heart was full of love for the people closest to him, his parents, siblings and his YiaYias. Savvas lived his life fully and brightly, imprinting his light on everyone around him. A truly unforgettable soul whose memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

Savvas will be deeply missed and always remembered by his parents; his brother Antoni; his sisters, Kali and Kaia; YiaYia Kelly Valva and YiaYia Doukissa Katsourakis; aunts and uncles, Maria Valva, Anthony Valva, Nikitas and Evelyn Katsourakis, Paul and Zoe Namey, and Pano and Arista Katsourakis along with many cousins, aunts & uncles whom he loved.

He was preceded in death by his Papou, Anthony Katsourakis and Grandfather, Mark Valva.
