Stavros M. Poullas, 93
CAMPBELL…Stavros M. Poullas, 93, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Stavros was born March 25, 1932 in Kalymnos, Greece, a son of Michael and Kalotina (Hazimahlis) Poullas.
He came to the U.S. when he was 18 and was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
He married his wife the former Mary Kust on July 8, 1956 and they shared 57 years of marriage until her passing on June 11, 2013.
Stavros worked as a foreman with Youngtown Sheet and Tube from which he retired after 32 years of dedicated service. After retirement he moved to Holiday, Florida then returned to the area in 2013.
He was a parishioner and founding member of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church.
Stavros enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, church activities and card games with family. He truly loved spending time with his family.
Stavros will be deeply missed and always remembered by his son, Chris (Karen) Poullas of Boardman; his grandchildren, Stephen (Courtney) Poullas of Youngstown, Nicholas Poullas of Campbell, Christopher (Rachel) Poullas of Poland, Carter and Lukas Poullas both of Texas; 7 great-grandchildren and his sister, Katerina Meris of Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; his daughter Elaine Poullas and his son, Michael Poullas. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Faneromi Zembillas, Kirana Katris and his brother Emmanuel M. Poullas.
The Poullas family has entrusted Stavros’ care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 10-11am at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Campbell, Ohio followed by a Funeral Service at 11am officiated by Rev. Steve Denas.
Stavros will be laid to rest at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Campbell, Ohio.
