Theresa M. “Tia” Matisi, 61
Lowellville…….Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am Saturday morning at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, and 10am in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lowellville, with Fr. John Jerek officiating for, Theresa M. “Tia” Matisi, 61, who passed away Tuesday morning at Sunrise of Poland Assisted Living.
Theresa was born Jan. 22, 1958 in Youngstown, the daughter of John B. and Gertrude R. Scholze Matisi.
She was a 1976 graduate of Lowellville High School and a 1978 graduate of Youngstown State University with an Associate in Business Administration Degree, and worked as a Pharmacy Tech at the Campbell Pharmacy, her family owned business.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church; the Holy Rosary Woman’s Guild and was a CCD Teacher for over 20 years, mostly preparing the First Holy Communion Classes.
Tia was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an avid cat lover.
She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, John (Dana) Matisi of Hubbard, Dr. Cate Matisi of Stewart, MaryAnne (Ken) Boris of North Ridgeville and Tony (Laraine) Matisi of Lowellivlle; 12 nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend, Nici Wilaj and her sisters, Mary Morrone, Gina Harren, Lisa Donofrio and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Barbara Ostrom.
The Matisi family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, and will receive family and friends on Friday evening from 5 to 7pm.
