CHRISTINE T. BABIK, 72

NEW MIDDLETOWN… Christine T. Babik; age 72, passed away on Thursday February 5, 2026 at Masternick Memorial. Christine was born October 9, 1953 in Youngstown and was a daughter of John and Lucy (Repec) Wajszczuk.

She was a 1971 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and was a lifelong area resident.

Christine had worked as a hostess at Perkins Restaurant and provided childcare over the years. She had also worked as a Nurses Aid.

She was of the Catholic Faith and enjoyed visiting with family and friends, Polka dancing and bus tours.

Her husband Joseph Babik, whom she married September 21, 1974, died August 7, 2023.

Christine is survived by her brothers Bruno Wajsczcuk of Boardman and John Wajsczcuk of Sebring, Ohio; she also leaves several cousins locally and in Canada.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, February 11,2026 at St. Dominic’s Church in Youngstown.

Christine was laid to rest beside her husband at Poland Riverside Cemetery.

The family entrusted Christine’s care to the Kubina-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Boardman.
